I'm astounded about Sarah Palin's disconnected response to a Fox reporter who asked for her response to Senator John Kerry referring to her in his Democratic Convention speech.
Reported in the Washington Post, Kerry criticized Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney for saying that Russia is America’s top geopolitical foe. He mentioned that Palin famously said, in a television interview, that in Alaska, she could see Russia. “Mitt Romney talks like he’s only seen Russia by watching Rocky IV,” Kerry said.
Palin responded, saying she was surprised that Senator Kerry knows her name. Moreover, the former Alaska governor said Thursday that Kerry “diminished himself” by mentioning her in his speech to the Democratic National Convention.
Although Sarah Palin is likely miffed about being snubbed at the Republican National Convention (see my blog http://oneturkeyrun.blogspot.com/2012/08/ten-reasons-why-republican-national.html ), she didn't improve her stature with her own party when her response to the Fox news reporter seemed disconnected from reality. It's entirely obvious that Sarah Palin can't think on her feet, unless she's been very heavily scripted.
This startling response from Ms. Palin (whose name is now cliche) is a glaring reminder about how fortunate Americans are NOT having her as our Vice-President, just one "heartbeat" away from being a Commander in Chief. Whew! What was Senator John McCain thinking when he chose the unqualified Palin? Like Romney, McCain succumbed to the radical right wing factions of the Republican Party, rather than boldly create a centrist image for America's Grand Old Party.
My message to Ms. Palin is, "We know you".
And Palin's correct response to Senator John Kerry's "put down" should have been something like, "Now you know why I have yet to fully endorse Mitt Romney!"
Ms. Palin, my above comment is the truth that you tried to avoid when you clearly mis-spoke on Fox news.
